The Implement a Traffic Management Plan course gives students a comprehensive understanding of the rules and requirements operators must follow to work safely on roads.
Topics covered in this course include:
- State Regulator rules applying to traffic management.
- How to direct traffic safely.
- Installation and alteration of road safety signs and traffic management equipment in accordance with the planned procedures and the relevant legislation.
- Basics of traffic control with a Slow-Stop Bat.
The course is designed to provide the operator with all the underlying knowledge and practical skills to safely set up traffic control equipment and direct traffic around road works, construction sites, and other situations which require planned traffic management operations.
This course may include some or all of the following delivery modes: classroom, online/eLearning, workplace or blended options.
Assessment requires a reasonable command of English and basic numeracy skills.
There are no pre-requisite qualifications for this course.
Assessment activities must all be conducted whilst communicating in English, and interpreters are not allowed to be used. Students require a reasonable command of English and basic numeracy skills to complete the assessment tool for this course. Only minor adjustments for personal or workplace reasons are allowed.
Hearing impaired persons may use sign language to communicate via an interpreter (only when approved by the Regulator).
While we will make every effort to cater to the specific needs of students, decisions relating to safety are not subject to negotiation.
The duration of this course is 1 day. Study may also include pre-course learning activities.
The course is delivered at 9 Snyder Crt, Tullamarine VIC, or can be delivered at other suitable workplaces by arrangement.
On successful completion of this course, you will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment with the relevant Units of Competency.
