COVID-19 (Coronavirus) News

Government Directives:

AITAC fully supports the Victorian Human Rights Charter, and believe that individuals have the right to choose as they see fit. However, we must act within the current law, whatever that may be.
As such, we require all trainers, staff, visitors, and students to comply with the Government directives as below:

From 6pm on Friday 29 October, Victorian students who wish to go onsite for the purpose of receiving higher education services must be fully vaccinated. This applies to all students unless they have evidence of a valid medical exemption, or the higher education services:

  1. cannot be conducted remotely, including attending assessments and classes; or
  2. involve secondary school subjects.

‘Higher education services’ continue to be defined as educational services provided at or by a university, vocational education and training providers (including registered training organisations), technical and further education (TAFE) institutes, adult community and further education, and other post-compulsory education or training.

All students, trainees, apprentices and volunteers who want to attend onsite must be able to provide evidence they are fully vaccinated, or exempted.

We are also still under record-keeping requirements. All persons visiting our facilities will be asked to check in using the Victorian Government QR code system.

Thank you for your ongoing understanding and support!

COVID-19 and our approach

AITAC continues to monitor the impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the latest directives surrounding this. The safety, health and well-being of the AITAC team, trainers/assessors, and our students, is our top priority.

Where possible, we are continuing to offer face-to-face classes following advice from public health authorities, and have implemented additional measures with aim to provide the safest possible learning environment for our students. These measures include conducting smaller class sizes, facilitating social distancing wherever possible, increasing cleaning of our facilities, and provision of hand sanitiser.

We need your help to keep everyone safe and healthy.

When attending your training session, please be prepared to follow the instruction of your trainer regarding measures such as social distancing and face masks. While these will at minimum align with the government directives in place at any given time, we may go above and beyond this in the interests of protecting our staff and students. While we understand this can be inconvenient, we rely on your respect and compliance during these difficult times.

Importantly, please reschedule your training for another time if in the last 14 days you have:

  • Experienced symptoms such as coughing, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath or body aches
  • Been in close contact with anyone who has a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19

If symptoms appear while attending your course, please return home immediately for both your comfort and the safety of those around you. If you are seen to be demonstrating these symptoms, you may be asked to leave the facility, again, for safety reasons.

Thank you. We value your custom and appreciate your help in keeping our workplace and each other safe.
